If you struggle emotionally, you may be tempted to give up or to start feeling sorry for yourself, creating what we might call a victim mentality, i.e., "I'm depressed and I can't stop feeling this way." "I just can't stop feeling nervous and anxious." "How can I not be depressed, I can't find a job?"

Once you feel trapped either by yourself or by your life circumstances, you put yourself in a vulnerable position for symptoms to escalate. If, however you embrace the following three Self-Coaching truths, you can begin to progress from feeling victimized to feeling empowered. The three truths are:

    ● Challenge the myth that you need to be rescued from you
    ● Accept full responsibility for change
    ● Accept that you are not helpless or powerless
