I often tell my patients that psychology isn’t rocket science. Once you understand the nature of insecurity, the need to over-control life, and the nature of habit-loops, then only questions two questions remain, what am I doing that feeds my insecurity? What am I doing that starves it?
Guess I’m trying to tell you that psychology is, when you look at it from a Self-Coaching lens, essentially common sense. Since we humans are creatures of habit and since habits, all habits, are learned, then all habits can be unlearned. Even the habit-loops that sustain anxiety and depression!
How do you starve anxiety and depression? By not mindlessly feeding it with unchecked, insecurity-driven doubts, fears, and negativity. In upcoming posts, I’ll share more about my technique of Mind Talk which will give you some specific Self-Coaching strategies to accomplish this. Let me know if this is of interest.
