1,400 reasons why you can’t afford to ignore stress

We often concede to stress by passively accepting the notion that we have no choice but to get upset when life challenges us. This is blatantly not true; you do have a choice! The second century emancipated slave, Epictetus, taught that everything that affects us, whether good or bad, positive or negative, depends on our own judgments and how we interpret the circumstances of our lives.  In other words, life doesn’t dictate our happiness—our interpretation of life does!  This is why optimists are happier than pessimists. It was true in Roman times and it’s true today.
