Don’t be victimized by worrying

Worrying is an anticipation of things going awry. After all, you don’t worry about things going right! A friend of mine told me about his mother’s rather humorous spin on this notion of worrying, “Don’t tell me worrying doesn’t work, most of the things I worry about never happen.”
From a Self-Coaching point of view, worrying is simply a neurotic attempt to handle anticipated chaos. A person with adequate self-trust is able to live in the here-and-now moment without engaging in worrisome, “what-iffing.” How do they do this? By a practiced willingness to believe that they can handle life as it unfolds.
