Every little thing is going to be all right

Perspective helps us to understand life from other vantage points. When we become solidified in our biases and entrenched beliefs, we lose perspective. Ask yourself, do you harbor any prejudices? Biases? Objectivity in life is a precious, albeit diminishing attribute as we become more and more and more polarized as a society. It’s perspective that gives us a better understanding and empathy, which in turn reduces bias, judgement, and needless conflict.

Take the cloudlike, surreal beauty of the California nebula, 1,000 light-years away. It reminds me that sometimes my petty, narrowminded perspective needs to be challenged with a more expansive, renewed perspective. When this happens, I see life more clearly, more in context. As the song goes, “…every little thing is going to be all right.”
