There Are Still Bones to Be Found

Many years ago, to fulfill a childhood dream, I traveled to Wyoming to dig for dinosaur bones. For the kid in me who had once dreamed about dinosaurs, it was pretty remarkable.

As we get older, it’s easy to assume that certain dreams belong to an earlier chapter of our lives. We become practical. Responsibilities take over. And without quite realizing it, we can begin to narrow our expectations of what still lies ahead.

Some may call it a bucket list, but what you call it doesn’t really matter—there are still bones to be found, places to visit, relationships to cultivate, and life to be lived.

Growing older may change what’s possible. But it doesn’t have to change our willingness to remain curious, engaged, and open to whatever might still be waiting for us
