Time to kill the Buddha

There’s an old Zen saying: “If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him.” Sounds shocking, right? But it’s not about violence—it’s a reminder that real wisdom can’t be handed to you by someone else. Imagine walking down the road and bumping into “the Buddha,” (a.k.a., a false Buddha) offering you instant enlightenment. Nice idea, but that’s not how it works. True awakening has to come from inside you. So “killing the Buddha” just means stop chasing outside answers and start trusting yourself.
