What really matters

When I was in graduate school, I had a rather morbid assignment of deciding what my gravestone epitaph would read. Doing a bit of research, I found that Edgar Allan Poe’s reads: “Quoth the raven nevermore.” The humorist Will Rodgers’s tombstone reads, “I never met a man I didn’t like.” After a few days of deliberating, it came to me.

My tombstone will read: “I’d rather be reading this.”
