Why November 11th, 2020 is important

I woke up early this morning and mindlessly tore off November 10th on our kitchen calendar revealing that today is November 11, 2020. It got me thinking. Only for today, and never again, will I be able to say that today is November 11th, 2020. Silly, but there was something disquieting about that revelation…a kind of sad recognition of the fleeting nature of time.

Perhaps you don’t need a calendar to remind you, but then again, maybe we all need to remind ourselves how very precious each day is. Maybe this is why the poets love flowers, because they are irreplaceable, of the moment, and never to be replaced. I shall do my very best to appreciate today, November 11th, 2020, how about you?
